Armidale Medical Centre offers Telehealth appointments for “All Patients” (if you are currently a patient).

2. If you have a fever with a cough, sore throat or shortness of breath & you have travelled overseas in the past month, please call the practice for advice.

Bulk Billing

Armidale Medical Centre is a bulk billing practice.

From  1st  November 2025:-
All
non-Medicare patients will be required to pay for your appointment at the conclusion of your consultation. No accounts will be issued. Overseas students can claim these expenses through BUPA; NIB and Medibank Private.  Our fees can be found here.

Prescriptions & Referrals

Online requests for both repeat prescriptions and referrals are available through AutoMed by clicking the link at the top of the page.  You must have seen the requesting Doctor in the last 6 months. Your doctor may reject the request and require that you make an appointment, if it is clinically indicated.

There is no Medicare rebate for online requests and will cost:
Scripts – $18.00
Referrals – $25.00

Practice Nurse

Practices Nurses are a vital part of our patient’s ongoing health management. They work in tandem with your doctor, to provide a holistic approach to your ongoing healthcare.

An appointment can be made with our Practice nurse for the following areas of patient care:

  • First aid and emergency management
  • Wound management
  • Injections and other vaccination requirements
  • Preventive health checks including cervical screening (CST) and immunisations.
  • Diagnostic services including ECGs, INRs, stress tests, urine drug screening, hearing tests, peak flow, and spirometry
  • Coordination of patient health assessments
  • Planning and coordinating care including routine monitoring and follow-up of patients with care plans

Non-Attendance
If you fail to attend an appointment there will be a charge of 50% of the missed appointment fee and you will be unable to book any appointments until the fee is paid.

If you cannot attend your appointments for any reason please let us know as soon as possible. We can then offer the appointment to someone else.

If you are a New Patient and fail to attend your first appointment without notification you will not be seen at Armidale Medical Centre in the future.
